Held on November 16-17, 2018 in Moscow, "Breaking down barriers 2.0: A colloquium in disability studies" was organized by the Department of Sociology of the Higher School of Economics-Moscow and the Journal of Social Policy Studies (Журнал исследований социальной политики), and supported by the Russian Studies Workshop. Bringing together a diverse, international, and interdisciplinary group of academics working in Disability Studies at various points in their careers and training, participants included graduate students, junior faculty, and independent scholars. The colloquium was held in conjunction with the 9th International Disability Film Festival “Breaking Down Barriers,” which was organized by the Russian Disability NGO Perspektiva and took place the following weekend.
