Russian Studies Workshop

Tatyana Margolin is the Regional Director for Eurasia at the Open Society Foundations, the largest private funder of human rights causes around the world. In this capacity, Margolin works closely with the seven national foundations in Eurasia, and helps initiate and sustain cross-regional partnerships to advance Open Society’s mission in the region. Margolin previously lead the Eurasia Program’s work on responding to the reactionary backlash and closing civic space in the Eurasia region. Prior to joining Open Society, Margolin was a foreign law clerk at the Supreme Court of Israel and a staff attorney at the Women’s Law Project, a nonprofit legal advocacy organization committed to fighting discrimination against women.
