The Will

The RSW will screen Jerry Mercury's  film, The Will. Mercury is a Russian film director and activist who will join via Zoom to introduce the film and lead a Q&A with the audience after the screening. His previousy films Setting Off with MalcomThe Non-Loneliness Train: Internal Inclusion, and Saffron March were also screened by the RSW.

The Will is a poetic reflection of a person with more than one invisible disability on themes such as life and death, communication and loneliness, the beginning of a new journey, and the meaning of self-advocacy. This is also an attempt to convey the author’s invisible reality and mystical experiences through poetry and visuals. Jerry edited and completed this film while in emigration, trying to nostalgically preserve the lost places and times that had invisibly supported him back in Russia as he was setting off on a new path—the path of a neurodivergent self-advocate.

In Russian with Russian subtitles (no English).
