Alisha Kirchoff is a PhD candidate in Sociology at Indiana University. Her research interests are in the sociology of law and the global legal profession. Her current projects include assessing the effects of immigrant status among members of the American legal profession and a project on the Russian notary profession. She is a former Associate Director of the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies Center at the University of Illinois and Urbana-Champaign and a past program coordinator for the Social Science Research Council.
Ms. Kirchoff is the Preparing Future Faculty Fellow at Indiana University for the 2020-2021 academic year, and is both a past FLAS Fellow and a past Boren Fellow. She earned a Master of Arts in Sociology from Indiana University, a Master of Arts in European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language and Civilization, Political Science, and International Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
