Samuel Fajerstein is a Russian Studies Workshop Fellow and Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of History at Indiana University. His primary research interests include the agricultural and environmental history of Russia and the Soviet Union. A recipient of the 2021 ASEEES Cohen-Tucker Dissertation Research Fellowship, he is currently working on a dissertation that examines the development of agricultural systems in the twentieth century, highlighting the role of international and transnational agricultural relationships between the USA and the USSR from 1917-1991. Samuel also holds a B.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an M.A. from Indiana University.
