August Brereton is a PhD student in the department of History at UW-Madison, focusing on both Modern Russian History and Gender and Women’s History. August recently completed a MA in History at the University of Oregon, where she wrote her thesis, “From Russia With Love: A Transnational History of Post-Soviet Wives and their American Husbands." Her dissertation research will continue to explore intersections between gender, emigration, and economics in the late and post-Soviet period.
