David Kaminsky earned an undergraduate degree at Ithaca College majoring in History and minoring in Politics and Muslim Civilizations. He received his joint-MA from the interdisciplinary South East European Studies Program through the University of Graz, Austria and the University of Belgrade, Serbia. His thesis examined the First Serbian Uprising and the Greek War of Independence analyzing the perceived role of nationalism in both events. Following his MA, he was a Senior Lecturer at Tyumen State University in Tyumen, Russia. Currently, he is a doctoral student in the History Department at the State University of New York at Binghamton working with Professor Heather DeHaan focusing on transnational migrations in Eurasia and refugees after the Russian Civil War.
