Dima Kortukov is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Political Science in Indiana University. He is mainly interested in authoritarian and hybrid regimes (with a focus on parties, elections and electoral reforms) and post-Communist politics (especially Russia and Ukraine). In summer 2017, a field research fellowship from RSW allowed Dima to conduct preliminary fieldwork in Russia. His current research projects explore the politics of electoral reform in Ukraine, the ideological foundations of the authoritarian turn in Russia, and the ways in which electoral authoritarian regimes thwart the cooperation efforts of anti-regime actors. Dima received B.A. and M.A. degrees in Political Science from Tel-Aviv University, Israel (both Magna cum laude), and also studied at Hebrew University and Masaryk University.
