Meagan Todd received her PhD in Geography from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2017. Todd specializes in the political geography of religion in Russia by examining the rights of minorities to practice religion in public space in increasingly authoritarian Russia. Her current research considers the politics of mosque construction in Moscow, taking a “place-based approach to power.” While a post-doctoral scholar at IU, Todd taught INTL-I 305, Culture and Politics, “Geographies of Islam,” with a strong focus on Russia. See Meagan's article, "The political geographies of religious sites in Moscow’s neighborhoods," published in the journal Eurasian Geography and Economics, published April 2018.
