Diana Sokolova received her Ph.D. in mass communications and political science at Indiana University, Bloomington. She is a qualitative and quantitative mass media researcher who specializes in Eastern European mass communications and politics. Her interests lay in independent media operating in contemporary authoritarian regimes, comparative media framing research, and political communication. She is a former journalist and is a recipient of multiple grants, scholarships, and leadership awards, including Fulbright.
