Leonid Polishchuk is an economist with research interests in institutions, political economy, and cultural studies. His work deals with causes and consequences of various institutional pathologies, and with interactions between formal institutions and norms, views and attitudes in the society. Much of his research is motivated by the developments in Russia and other transition countries after the collapse of communism. He holds academic appointments at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia, and at the Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Uppsala University in Sweden. Polishchuk was a visiting scholar at RSW in Fall 2018.
