The Russian Studies Workshop (RSW) is an interdisciplinary research incubator and training center that integrates scholars from Indiana University and across the U.S. and Russia at various stages of their careers into an international network based on a shared commitment to research on Russia. We recognize the critical role of research in fostering a sophisticated understanding of how other people live and think as a necessary starting point for resolving pressing global issues. Our approach is student-focused, dedicated to providing the training, mentorship, financial and institutional support necessary to equip future Russian Studies scholars with the knowledge and skills to understand and anticipate social, economic, political and cultural developments in Russia.
